TMT ID is a leading provider of phone number intelligence worldwide. Basic industry services identify if a number has the correct number of digits, and can tell you if a number has been provided by a regulator to a service provider for assignment. This is often not enough to detect fraud.
As an example, fraudsters use spoofing of an originating telephone number to make it appear that the call/message is from a country with a lower termination rate. They often use numbers that appear valid but have not been assigned to a subscriber by a service provider. Another use case involves sending SMS messages. Customers incur charges for messages sent to non-active telephone numbers. By checking if a number is active before sending a text message, customers can optimize their SMS costs.
TMT ID services go beyond the basics and provide intelligence that enables customers to confirm if a telephone number has been assigned to a subscriber, enabling customers to take action. We are continuously enhancing our network coverage and most recently have expanded our network coverage for Belize, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, French Guiana, Guinea-Bissau, Laos, Maldives, Martinique, Nigeria, Samoa and Uganda.
