Paul Elliott deve ter parecido bom demais para ser verdade quando se candidatou para ser diretor de ER na Yarm School, em Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Ele n\u00e3o era apenas um ex-aluno de Oxford cuja brilhante carreira acad\u00eamica remontava aos seus pr\u00f3prios tempos de escola, com seis As no A Level e 12 no GCSE. \u00c9 claro que o caso de Elliott est\u00e1 no extremo da escala para esse campo, mas sua hist\u00f3ria ilustra como \u00e9 f\u00e1cil simplesmente mentir em um curr\u00edculo e sair impune porque voc\u00ea parece plaus\u00edvel e poucas pessoas se preocupam em fazer mais do que verifica\u00e7\u00f5es superficiais.<\/p>\n

\u00c9 bem poss\u00edvel que esse seja o motivo pelo qual os golpes trabalhistas representam um setor importante e crescente da economia da fraude em massa.<\/p>\n

E, embora mentir sobre suas realiza\u00e7\u00f5es em uma candidatura a um emprego possa ser menos gritante do que, por exemplo, roubar as economias de um aposentado que foi ing\u00eanuo o suficiente para acreditar que uma liga\u00e7\u00e3o recebida era realmente de seu banco, isso ainda representa a obten\u00e7\u00e3o de dinheiro – e frequentemente de status e outras vantagens – por meio de fraude. Portanto, ainda se trata de uma fraude. <\/p>\n

Portanto, \u00e9 uma boa not\u00edcia o fato de que o setor de empregos parece estar acordando tardiamente para o fato de que eles estiveram abertos a abusos por muito tempo e deixaram esse problema crescer.<\/p>\n

E como at\u00e9 agora n\u00e3o havia uma cultura no setor de emprego em geral de aplicar muito escrut\u00ednio aos candidatos al\u00e9m de uma verifica\u00e7\u00e3o de refer\u00eancias, muitas vezes n\u00e3o \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio muito esfor\u00e7o ou planejamento elaborado para que as pessoas determinadas a mentir consigam se safar.<\/p>\n

N\u00e3o estamos falando de pessoas que fingem o pr\u00f3prio desaparecimento deixando uma pilha de roupas em uma praia. Elas podem simplesmente estilizar seu nome de forma diferente: talvez usando um nome do meio em vez do primeiro nome anterior, para que seu antigo eu n\u00e3o apare\u00e7a prontamente em uma pesquisa no Google<\/em>. <\/p>\n

E, embora eles possam se mudar de uma \u00e1rea onde o que quer que estejam tentando esconder possa ser bem conhecido para facilitar essa forma de mudan\u00e7a de identidade, uma coisa que eles quase certamente n\u00e3o mudar\u00e3o \u00e9 o n\u00famero de telefone: ser\u00e1 muito inconveniente quando outras coisas tamb\u00e9m estiverem mudando. Isso facilitar\u00e1 as coisas com os contatos que eles n\u00e3o querem perder. E isso pode ser o calcanhar de Aquiles para o golpista de curr\u00edculos. <\/p>\n

Nosso setor ainda n\u00e3o chegou ao ponto em que podemos identificar quando algu\u00e9m inflou sua nota em um GCSE de matem\u00e1tica tirado 20 anos antes, mas voc\u00ea ficaria surpreso com o que podemos deduzir de um \u00fanico n\u00famero de telefone celular!<\/p>\n
